The Community of Care Network is a collaborative group of organizations, agencies, and individuals seeking to provide an opportunity for everyone in Douglas County to thrive. Together, they educate the community, advocate on behalf of clients and serve the most vulnerable residents.
Meeting times and locations
The Community of Care Network meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 9-10 a.m. in the Philip S. Miller County Administration Building (currently meetings are held virtually). Agencies, organizations, and concerned residents serving Douglas County’s vulnerable residents are welcome to attend Network meetings. Strive to Thrive
Strive to Thrive is a bi-annual event hosted by the Community of Care Network. Each year, usually in January and July, more than 25 agencies and organizations come together to offer a one-stop-shop resource fair for vulnerable residents in Douglas County. Participating agencies provide on-site services to those in attendance. In the past, the event offers access to job listings, housing information and assistance, food, clothes, household supplies, medical care, dental screenings, haircuts, a free meal and much more. Winter Weather Care
Winter Weather Care is a coordinated intake and assessment developed in Douglas County to assist in identifying shelter options for homeless residents in Douglas County during the winter months. A limited number of hotel vouchers may be available to those who qualify. Residents experiencing homelessness can inquire about shelter options through one of the following agencies:
