Coroner Raeann Brown

2023-2027 Coroner Raeann Brown

Raeann Brown was elected Douglas County Coroner in November 2022 and began serving her term in January 2023. As Douglas County Coroner, Raeann is responsible for the determination of cause and manner of death for all cases that the office takes jurisdiction, as well as the day-to-day administration of the Coroner’s Office.

Raeann is a graduate of the Metropolitan State University of Denver, with a degree in biology and criminalistics (the study of evidence).  Her background includes 19 years of end-of-life care experience in medicolegal death investigations as well as organ and tissue donation.

Raeann is a Forensic Science Board Member for the Warren Tech High School and a forensic expert for Colorado Coroners Association in organ and tissue donation.

In 2023 she was appointed by Governor Polis to the Colorado Coroner Standard and Testing Board.  Raeann also serves as the Treasurer of the Colorado Coroners Association’s Executive Board of Directors.

Raeann is a third-generation Coloradan who has called Douglas County her home for 26 years.  Proudly serving her country, Raeann is a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

Raeann will bring leadership, compassion, integrity, transparency, and professionalism to the office.
