When you turn on the tap, enter a building, or drive down the road, you probably aren’t thinking about the technical work to improve or maintain that infrastructure. But our public works professionals are.
To recognize the dedication and professionalism of our public works employees, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners passed a resolution May 10 declaring May 15-21, 2022 as Public Works Week in Douglas County.
From designing, building and repairing roads, to snow removal, water quality monitoring, and maintaining public structures and facilities, these dedicated employees are dedicated to protecting our health, safety and quality of life. This year, the national theme is “Ready and Resilient” to recognize all the ways public works professionals perform these regular work duties while being prepared to respond during natural disasters.
This summer, you’ll see many of our public works employees out on the road for annual maintenance and construction, which protects our shared investment in public infrastructure. Watch this video for a safety message from our employees. Drive safe, DC!
