No matter where you live – or commute – in Douglas County, your safe and smooth travel is our priority. During a regular business meeting this week, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners advanced several transportation projects to keep you moving – safely.
Near Roxborough and Sterling Ranch, a project at the on-ramp from Titan Parkway to northbound U.S. Highway 85 will improve safety and traffic operations. Commissioners approved a construction contract to add a second left-turn lane and widen the ramp. Construction is expected to begin in August and be complete before the end of the year.
At County Line Road and Lucent Boulevard, new striping and minor intersection improvements will allow County traffic engineers to adjust the timing of the signal to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow. Commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Littleton for the work, which also includes stormwater inspection and repairs, pavement patching, curb realignment, ADA ramp improvements, roadway re-striping and minor shoulder widening. Construction is expected to begin this summer and be complete before the end of the year.
A safe and accessible multimodal transportation network is one of the Board of County Commissioner’s six core priorities. Read more about the County’s transportation initiatives online.
