If you’re a veteran living in Douglas County, our new Veteran Service Office Director wants you to know one thing: the Veteran Service Office is here to help.

Former Office volunteer and Army Command Sergeant Major Chris Maes took the helm earlier this year. Get to know him and his vision for the office in his interview with Commissioner George Teal.

Born and raised in southern Colorado, Maes enlisted in the Army right after high school and served for 20 years. He said it’s personal conversations that can connect veterans to services they didn’t know they had. Maes invites veterans to pick up the phone or stop by the office to start that conversation.

Phone: 303-663-6200
Address: 301 Wilcox St. in Castle Rock
