Is your summer full of raking, mowing, clipping and weeding, but you’re always left with piles of yard waste with nowhere to go? A new service for Douglas County residents ensures you now have one place to dispose of all of your unwanted yard waste.
Green Yard Waste drop-off is now available at Douglas County’s seasonal Slash-Mulch site.
Items accepted at the Green Yard Waste site include:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves and weeds
- Pinecones
Items accepted at the Slash-Mulch site include:
- Pine needles
- Tree limbs
- Shrubs, brush
Both free services are available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays through October at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.
Please separate your items according to the service at the site you will be utilizing and be prepared to empty all containers or bags to take back home with you. Please make sure items are free of pet waste.
Free mulch is also available to residents. All items collected at the Douglas County Slash-Mulch/Green Yard Waste site are turned into mulch or compost, not taken to a landfill.
