Metropolitan Football Stadium District (MFSD) Fund

Douglas County received $939,363.21 in one-time funding from the sale of the Denver Broncos in 2022. As one of seven Counties in the Metropolitan Football Stadium District (MFSD), Douglas County was awarded the funds in late 2022 that, by law, must be used for youth activities programs.

Following a public process in 2023, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners at their January 23, 2024 Business Meeting, presented grants to the winning proposals for Stadium District funding. Click here to view the complete list of recipients, projects, and dollar amounts.

In September 2023, the County asked the community for their ideas via a Live Town Hall hosted by the Board of Douglas County Commissioners and youth panelists. Youth-serving organizations submitted 45 proposals for the funds.

Following the public process – and with the guidance of local teens serving on the County’s Youth Commission and Youth Initiative – the Board of Douglas County Commissioners accepted the recommendation of the youth commissioners to award $825,677 to 31 youth activity programs.

The remaining $113,686 will be retained for future investments in innovative mental health programming, the distribution of which will also be part of a public process.
