All registered voters in Douglas County receive their ballots by mail. Colorado has been conducting mail ballot elections since 2014 and is regarded as a national model for election integrity, security, and high voter turnout.
Have you ever wondered what happens to your voted ballot after you mail it in or drop it off at your neighborhood ballot drop box?
Watch this short “Life of a Ballot” video to see exactly how the Douglas County Elections office does its job to ensure that your vote counts — just like it’s supposed to.
Your ballot is secure and monitored throughout the election process by cameras, chain of custody logs, and bipartisan teams of election judges from your community who participate every step of the way.
Ballots for the Nov. 7, 2023, Coordinated Election were mailed to all eligible voters beginning on Oct. 16, and you can expect your ballot to arrive by Oct. 25. Once you return your completed ballot by mail or the secure ballot drop box nearest you, visit DouglasVotes.com to sign up to track the status of your ballot with phone, text, or email notifications from BallotTrax.
