Please consider applying for one vacant alternate member position on the Douglas County Board of Health. Preferred applicants will have skills that align with Douglas County’s Public Health Improvement plan priorities: Behavioral Health, Injury Prevention, and Disease Management and Prevention, determined following the County’s Community Health Assessment in 2021.
In addition to the county residency requirement, ideal candidates for the position will have related expertise in areas such as: public health; environmental health; medicine/nursing; health promotion/health education; mental health/social work; education; community advocacy; and public policy.
Alternate Board of Health members may vote on Douglas County Health Department matters only in the absence of the Board of Health member for whom they have been designated as an alternate. Alternate terms will coincide with the Board of Health member to whom they have been so designated.
