2025 project schedules are anticipated to be available in February – please check back then. Work is scheduled to occur during the summer school break.
Douglas County’s 2025 street paving program includes Venneford Ranch Road between University Boulevard and Colorado Boulevard. This project will be utilizing high performance asphalt to extend the life of the new surface.
Work will be completed in phases – the first phase consists of sidewalk repairs and curb ramp upgrades, which will be performed by the County’s sidewalk repair contractor. Sidewalk repairs are expected to take between one to two weeks to be completed.
The second phase will take place later in the summer and consists of rotomilling to remove some of the top layer of asphalt, which is expected to take less than a week to complete and will be performed by the County’s asphalt overlay contractor. The final phase follows rotomilling by one to two weeks and includes placing the new overlay; this last phase may take up to a week to complete.
During construction, access to adjacent roads will be available, with occasional short delays.
One to two days before the start of each phase of work, variable message boards will be placed at each end of the project to notify drivers of the planned work.
Two days before the start of rotomilling and paving, no-parking signs will be posted along the streets scheduled for work. Construction will be done Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
