Resources for the General Election

State of Colorado Ballot Information Booklet (Blue Book)

The State of Colorado Ballot Information Booklet (Blue Book) is prepared by and mailed to all active voters in the state by the Legislative Council at least 30 days before Election Day.

The Blue Book contains information about all statewide ballot measures, including both non-TABOR ballot questions and TABOR (tax issue) ballot issues, and information about the judges who are on the ballot for retention. Click here for 2024 Judicial Performance Evaluations.

Douglas County Ballot Issue Notices Booklet (TABOR Book)

The Douglas County Ballot Issue Notices Booklet (TABOR Book) is mailed to each address with one or more active, registered electors residing in a precinct with a TABOR issue (tax issue) on the ballot at least 30 days before Election Day. Electors receiving the TABOR Book may not be eligible to vote on all issues presented.

Only county ballot issues (tax issues) are included in this publication, and the issues contained in the TABOR Book will only be on your ballot if you reside within that jurisdiction.

The Designated Election Official (DEO) for each ballot proposal is responsible for preparing the ballot issue notice for the TABOR Book and submitting it to the Office of Clerk and Recorder. The Office of Clerk and Recorder is not responsible for ballot issue language, fiscal information, or comment summaries presented and must print each ballot issue notice in the TABOR Book exactly as it is received from the DEO in accordance with the State of Colorado Constitution and the Colorado Uniform Election Code. For additional information about a ballot proposal, contact the political subdivision DEO as listed in the TABOR Book.

Judicial District 23 (and Judicial District 18) Information

Effective in January 2025, the counties of Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln will move from the 18th Judicial District to the newly created 23rd Judicial District.

The General Election ballot for Douglas County includes the contest for District Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District.

Judge Retention questions on the Douglas County ballot are still listed for the 18th Judicial District because this is the district in which judges have been serving. The governor will designate judges serving in the 18th Judicial District to serve the remainder of their terms in the 23rd Judicial District by November 30, 2024. All designated judges must establish residency in the 23rd Judicial District by January 7, 2025.
