2019 International Archaeology Day Expo

October 19, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

two small children looking at fossils in the dirtHave you ever looked out over the beautiful vistas of Douglas County and wondered what it was like when people first traveled these lands? Are you fascinated by archaeology and curious about what we can learn from prehistoric artifacts?

Don’t miss your chance to experience Colorado’s colorful past firsthand at the 2019 International Archaeology Day Expo on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Fun for all ages and free for everyone, this event includes a lecture series, activity booths, demonstrations and off-site visits to archaeological sites.

Start off at Roxborough Intermediate School with hands-on exploration. While there pick up a schedule and directions for off-site activities like tours of the Lamb Spring Archaeological Preserve and the Miksch-Helmer Cabin, a rare example of pioneer log architecture in Douglas County.

Parking in the vicinity of this event is limited. If you live within walking distance of the Roxborough Intermediate School we encourage you to enjoy the walk to the event with your friends, family and neighbors, if you are able.
