A healthy start and finish to the day, an opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds and a chance to leave a greener footprint, Colorado Bike to Work Day participants should be able to accomplish it all in a day’s time.
On June 26, commuters are invited to leave their cars at home and pedal their way to and from the office as part of the annual event that aims at getting more people out of their cars and onto their bicycles on a regular basis.
Those who ride through Lone Tree, Castle Rock or Parker can enjoy a free breakfast and bike tune-up courtesy of local municipalities and businesses between the hours of 6:30 and 9 a.m.
Douglas County will be hosting water stations at two points along the Centennial Trail (C-470 Trail) from 3:30-6 p.m. — one where it intersects with Colorado Boulevard in Highlands Ranch and the other at Peoria Street, just west of Parker.

Bike to Work Day is a national initiative celebrated in most states in May. In Colorado, due to the mountainous terrain and routine spring snowstorms throughout Colorado, it occurs each year on the fourth Wednesday in June.
