Tax Work-Off Program

Douglas County offers the Tax Work-Off Program to Douglas County taxpayers 60 years of age or older, or individuals with a disability, the opportunity to work off a portion of their Douglas County property taxes by meeting temporary needs with County departments. A Tax Work-Off assignment may be for up to a maximum of 100 hours at minimum wage, or the amount of the County portion of the taxes that are due, whichever is less. The availability of positions is based on the operational needs of the County at the time of application.  Click here to view the Tax-Work Off Program Policy.

To qualify you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 60 years of age or older or individuals with a disability
  • Be a homeowner within Douglas County
  • Reside at the address for which taxes are paid
