Water and Wastewater Investments (ARPA Funding)

The American Rescue Plan Act allows a variety of investments in water and wastewater infrastructure in Douglas County, including but not limited to:

Water Investments
Eligible projects are defined by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and include treatment, transmission and distribution (including lead service line replacement), source rehabilitation and decontamination, storage, consolidation, and new systems development

Wastewater Investments
Eligible projects are defined by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund, and include construction of publicly-owned centralized treatment, collection, and conveyance among other allowed uses.

Authorized Expenditures

Northern Highway 85 Water and Wastewater Project

  • Proposed Investment: $20 M
  • Provision of central sewer (wastewater) and water service to the Louviers area.

Southern Highway 85 Water and Wastewater Project

  • Proposed Investment: $14 M
  • Provision of central sewer (wastewater) service to the Sedalia area.

Sedalia Water and Sanitation District

Sedalia Water & Sanitation District infrastructure improvements 

  • Proposed Investment: $ 2,653,134
  • Replacing water infrastructure, upsizing, and adding new pipes within the Sedalia Water and Sanitation District.

Louviers Water and Sanitation District

Louviers Water & Sanitation District water supply treatment and infrastructure improvements 

  • Proposed Investment: $1,900,000
  •  Installation of a treatment system to treat the Louviers Water and Sanitation District water supply for radium.
