Commissioners appoint Kim Muramoto to fill Tri-County Board of Health vacancy

Kim Muramoto, Centura Health Trauma System Director, with oversight of 16 facilities, was unanimously appointed to Douglas County’s vacancy on the Tri-County Health Department Board of Health, by the Board of Douglas County Commissioners, on Tuesday, April 27.

A resident of Douglas County, Muramoto is a master’s prepared, licensed Colorado registered nurse with a background in emergency, critical care, trauma, flight nursing, injury prevention, and outreach. She has developed and sustained programs that address substance abuse, suicide, mental health and injury prevention.

Earlier this year, 23 candidates stepped forward in response to the Board of County Commissioner’s Feb. 4  call for applications to fill one vacant Douglas County seat on the Tri-County Board of Health.

The top four candidates were interviewed by the full Board of Douglas County Commissioners on March 3 and 4.  In addition to Linda Fielding, appointed by the Commissioners to the Board of Health on Tuesday, March 9, Muramoto stood out as a top candidate among the four finalists. The Board of County Commissioners thus chose her to fill the second vacancy.
