Seeking to limit the potential for disputes about the ability of Douglas County to provide services to migrant populations, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners adopted a resolution at their Oct. 12 Special Business Meeting sending a message to the City and County of Denver: Douglas County is not a sheltering solution to Denver’s migrant population crisis.

A Resolution Regarding Migrant Response is intended to not only affirm that Douglas County is not a sanctuary jurisdiction the resolution also calls on the cities and counties in the Denver Metropolitan Area – including the City and County of Denver and the new Denver Mayor – to publicly do the same.
