Are you an older adult living in Douglas County? Do you need assistance with community resources, human services, transportation, homemaker assistance, or handyman duties around the house?
Working in partnership with others in our communities, we take on tough issues for those in vulnerable situations. Local non-profits, the faith-based community, as well as the state and federal governments, work with us to help to ensure that people have services, food on the table, a roof over their heads – providing the resources and the path they need to remain self-sufficient. This is the outcome we celebrate.
Staff at Aging Resources of Douglas County knows one of the most common challenges among older adults is knowing where to look for help. That’s why we publish our Resource Guide for Aging Adults, complete with phone numbers, websites, and other contact information for the people and organizations that can help older adults get the assistance they need quickly and affordably. Services available to older adults include Adult Protection Services, Food Assistance, General Assistance, and Low Income Energy and Weatherization assistance. . Staff also assists eligible individuals with applications for Home Care Allowance and Old Age Pension. The Seniors’ Council promotes Living Well/Aging Well™ in Douglas County, Colorado. For education and virtual activities for older adults, learn more about the Seniors’ Council, the Castle Rock Senior Activity Center, the Parker Senior Center, and the Highlands Ranch Metro District’s Active Adult Programs & Services.
The County makes grant funding available to agencies that provide services to older adults, primarily for transportation, chore, homemaker, and personal care services.
