Do you need a copy of a birth or death certificate? Now, you can get those copies close to home – in Castle Rock at the Douglas County Health Department.

Certified birth and death certificates are legal documents that are printed on forgery-resistant safety paper with watermarks, raised engraving, background security patterns, and a unique certificate identification number. Certified copies are available in Castle Rock for births and deaths that occurred in any Colorado county.

Records can be obtained in-person by visiting the Douglas County Health Department at 410 S Wilcox St. No appointments are necessary. Or, visit the Douglas County Health Department web page for ways to obtain records online, by mail or by email.

Copies are $20 for the first copy and $13 for each additional copy if ordered at the same time.

Vital records are the first service of the new Douglas County Health Department. Other services will launch later in the year as Douglas County transitions from Tri-County Health to its own health department.
