By order of Sheriff Darren Weekly, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place for unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Ordinance No. O-012-004 restricts open fires, open burning, and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.
In observance of the New Year, all Douglas County offices will be closed for on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, for normal business. Many County services are available 24/7 by visiting online services.
This is not a multi-day event and is for Douglas County residents. The event is scheduled for Friday evening, Nov. 17. However, if it is cloudy, the backup date will be Saturday evening, Nov. 18. In either case participants are expected to arrive by 3:30 p.m. and the event will end at 2 a.m. the following morning. Attendees will be able to leave the event at any time.
