Fire Restrictions move from Stage 2 to Stage 1 as of Aug. 9, 2024

Information courtesy of Douglas County Sheriff:

Sheriff Darren Weekly has reduced Fire Restrictions in unincorporated areas of Douglas County from Stage 2 to Stage 1 effective, Aug. 9, 2024.  Ordinance No. O-012-004 (Stage 1) restricts open fires, open burning, and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.

Violation of these fire restrictions is a Class-2 Petty Offense, punishable by up to a $1000 fine and a $10 surcharge.
