If you travel on Hess Road between I-25 and Parker, plan for delays while crews repair a bridge beginning Monday, April 14, 2025.
Over 90 days, crews will upgrade portions of the current bridge and repair the pavement where the bridge meets the roadway. During this time, a temporary traffic signal and flaggers will direct alternating single-lane traffic.
Motorists should plan to make a full stop at the signal and wait for the green light before traveling through the work area. Flaggers will be present during the first few weeks to assist drivers. Speeds through the area will be reduced and delays could be up to 10 minutes. Alternate routes are available for drivers who prefer not to use the traffic signals.
Previously, we announced that motorists traveling westbound would not have through access to the Castle Pines and I-25 interchange during construction. Following feedback from our local partners and community, we found a solution to keep eastbound and westbound traffic open.
Repairs on a second Hess Road bridge with similar traffic impacts are anticipated in 2026. Stay informed about these projects by signing up for Douglas County’s Cone Zone email notifications. Learn more about the project on our project website. For statewide road conditions, visit cotrip.org.
