Box, Ammunition

Wood box for shipping ammunition, cartridges. Stamped on one side is 'FROM U.S. CARTRIDGE CO. LOWELL, MASS.' Lettering on both ends is worn off except for partial letters. The box was modified for reuse as a tool box by drilling a hole in each end and chiseling out a finger-hold. Nail holes in the top edge indicate the presence of a lid at one time.
