Trail improvements increase safety, mobility near Park Meadows

Cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers alike will now have a safer and more efficient experience at the intersection of Yosemite Street and C-470 near Park Meadows. Two new pedestrian bridges are open.
Designed to improve safety along the trail, the C-470 Trail Improvements project included the installation of a pedestrian bridge over Yosemite Street and a pedestrian bridge over the C-470 0n-ramp, along with the extension of a multi-use trail/sidewalk on the north side of S. Yosemite Street and the C-470 on-ramp.
The old trail required pedestrians and cyclists to cross at the busy intersection of Yosemite and C-470. With bridge construction complete, the trail is rerouted over the intersection, creating a safer, more convenient connection for pedestrians and cyclists. Additionally, the new pedestrian bridge will improve mobility for vehicles by reducing congestion and traffic delays on Yosemite Street related to C-470 Trail users interfacing with motorists.
This project was made possible through collaboration among Douglas County, the Colorado Department of Transportation, Park Meadows Mall, Lone Tree and $2 million in federal funding through the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) project selection process.
A safe and accessible multimodal transportation network is one of the Board of County Commissioner’s six core priorities. Read more about the County’s transportation initiatives online.
