Integrated Transit and Multimodal Study

How do you prefer to get around Douglas County?

As we invest in a safe and accessible multimodal transportation system with various road expansion projects, we also want to learn more about how you and your neighbors want to use transit in the future. That’s why the County is engaging you and our area partners on an integrated transit and multimodal transportation study.

We want to hear from you!

Help us understand your needs, barriers, and perceptions around transit. Give us input into potential near-term projects.

We are now looking for community members to provide input and help us identify needed connections and potential projects.

Public Informational meeting dates listed below.

What will the study do?

This effort is to improve existing transit services and find ways to provide reasonable and reliable transit to people who do not own or have access to their own transportation, who do not own a phone, and/or who have limited personal mobility.

The study focuses on the northern area of Douglas County, including the City of Castle Pines, the Town of Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, the City of Lone Tree, and the Town of Parker.

The information gathered will identify places where the current transit network does not connect people to the places they want to go, and potential near- and long-term improvements to the existing system or new connections.

How will the study be done?

Douglas County will rely on public input and technical analysis to inform the study. The County will work to understand community needs and how transit – travel by bus, train, light rail, and rideshare – can help people in Douglas County.

  • Many Douglas County communities are not served by RTD and are underserved by existing transit.
  • There is not a dedicated, reliable transit service to connect the RTD regional rail and bus systems to county communities.
