Bayou Gulch Road Project Fact Sheet

Description

Douglas County is improving Bayou Gulch Road between Pradera Parkway and Scott Avenue by realigning the roadway, installing new asphalt pavement, improving the storm infrastructure, and installing a continuous sidewalk throughout the project. After construction, the entire road – from Pradera Parkway to Scott Avenue – will have one lane in each direction paved with new asphalt, three-foot shoulders, and a continuous concrete sidewalk for pedestrian access.

This project also includes:

  • A new urban storm sewer system that will outlet into an existing permanent water quality pond located on the Cielo Development which was expanded by Douglas County last year in preparation for this project.
  • An extension of a dual 6’ by 6’ box culvert to accommodate the new alignment and “ultimate” four-lane major arterial section roadway width.

Schedule

Construction started on June 26, 2023, and was completed on May 24, 2024.
