Watch a live stream of Douglas County Ballot Drop Boxes

New live stream feature provides an additional level of transparency in the election process

Did you know ballot drop boxes are monitored 24/7 by surveillance cameras? Now, a live stream of that surveillance is available for public viewing on DouglasVotes.com.

Video surveillance, lighting, and recording of ballot drop boxes is required by law during each election cycle. The public live stream further enhances transparency in the election process.

“More than 90% of our voters here in Douglas County return their voted ballot to one of our official ballot drop boxes during each election,” said Clerk and Recorder Sheri Davis, “Ballot drop boxes are convenient, secure, and with 21 locations across the county, a ballot drop box is located with three miles of most of our population.”

The public can view the 24/7 live stream of the drop box video surveillance cameras on the Ballot Drop Box Locations page on DouglasVotes.com. A menu for each camera location and instructions on how to access the live feed are included on the webpage.

“We have highly engaged citizens here in Douglas County who want to see and understand the election process in action,” said Davis, “We are so pleased to provide this additional level of transparency for our community.”

Ballots for the Nov. 5, 2024, General Election will be mailed to registered voters beginning on Friday, Oct. 11, and Douglas County’s 21 ballot drop boxes open at the same time. For official voter resources and election information, or to chat with Elections staff, visit DouglasVotes.com, or contact Douglas County Elections by phone at 303-660-7444.
