Your next representative in Douglas County government is in office.

Commissioner Kevin Van Winkle took the oath of office Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, to fill a vacancy in Commissioner District III left by the predecessor Commissioner who resigned from office on Dec. 6, 2024. Gov. Jared Polis appointed Van Winkle to the vacancy on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024. Watch the swearing in ceremony on our YouTube channel.

A native of Douglas County, Van Winkle was duly elected to Douglas County Commissioner District III in November for a term starting in January 2025. He’ll take the oath of office for that seat on Jan. 14, 2025, along with Commissioner George Teal who won his second term in November 2024.
