New Year’s Eve is always a special time to gather with family, friends or neighbors. That’s why your Board of Douglas County Commissioners has organized a family-friendly, safe way to ring in 2025.

Starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, a 10-minute drone show will light up the sky above EchoPark Stadium, 11901 Newlin Gulch Blvd. in Parker.

“New Year’s Eve is the perfect time of year to celebrate the past and set goals for the future,” said Commissioner Abe Laydon. “We invite everyone in Douglas County to join us for this amazing drone show, which will not only be spectacular but also help us avoid wildfires while looking out for Veterans and our special animals for whom loud explosions may not be ideal.”

Here are the details for a special New Year’s Eve:

Drone shows are much quieter than traditional fireworks, making them a better option for our Veterans, children, older adults and pets. They also help dry climates like ours avoid the risk of wildfire that comes with fireworks.

Citizen safety is of the utmost importance at this event. You can expect temporary traffic patterns, increased signage and no-parking zones near the stadium. Please follow guidance from law enforcement, and please do not block driveways or public access. No parking will be permitted on Double Angel, Hess or Chambers roads.

This event is weather-dependent and will be canceled if wind speeds are too high. Stay tuned to the County’s Facebook and X platforms for updates.
