What do you think about renting homes to vacationers in Douglas County?

Join a Live Town Hall Wednesday, Feb. 23 to learn more and discuss

Your quality of life and your opinion matter in Douglas County. That’s why the Douglas County Commissioners want to have a conversation about short-term rentals – like those found on VRBO or Airbnb – in unincorporated areas.

Recently, the Commissioners have heard community feedback from many interested property owners – those who would like to rent their homes for short-term use, such as vacationing or for traveling nurses, and those who would prefer short-term rentals not be allowed in their neighborhood. Douglas County’s Zoning regulations allow only limited opportunities for this type of activity. The Commissioners want to hear more input before considering any policy changes.

Bring your questions and feedback to a Live Town Hall meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23. You can join the Live Town Hall in several ways: in-person at 100 Third St. in Castle Rock, online at douglas.co.us/townhall, or on the phone, by calling 833-380-0668.

This policy consideration is for unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Many municipalities, homeowners’ associations, and metro districts have their own policies in place.
