You see acts of service every day that make Douglas County better. Your Board of Douglas County Commissioners is seeking your help to celebrate the men, women and young people in our community who impact the lives of others – as we all honor each other.

Commissioners launched this initiative by honoring Howard Berger – a WWII Veteran, lifelong public servant and centenarian who says his proudest moments are those in which he helped fellow soldiers overseas. Mr. Berger was presented with a Douglas County Challenge Coin and became the first distinguished honoree in the Douglas County Hall of Fame on March 11.

Watch this video to hear Commissioner Kevin Van Winkle’s full interview with Mr. Berger (stick around until the end to see if he gives away the secret to living to the age of 101).

Help us continue to honor people doing good deeds and good work in our community by nominating them for the Douglas County Hall of Fame.
