Are you a Douglas County resident who’s passionate about bringing the community together through our rural heritage, agriculture, western sports, youth exhibits and quality entertainment?
Your passion and knowledge, paired with a background in large-event management, accounting/finance, and/or a strong network of resources, may position you as the next member of the Douglas County Fair Board.
If you meet these criteria, have a strong work ethic, and have a flexible schedule to allow for weekday activities, you are encouraged to apply for one of several open seats. Online applications will be accepted through Friday, May 16, 2025.
The Fair Board, appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, comprises 21 volunteer members who represent a vibrant community tradition. Board members are the heart and soul behind the annual Douglas County Fair and Rodeo, including 4-H support.
Board members are required to attend a regularly scheduled monthly meeting held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month and participate in two committees twice each month.
Committees include administrative, marketing, entertainment, guest services, livestock sale, rodeo and show management.
Those who wish to serve on the Fair Board should be available 8-10 hours per week, and extensive hours during the Fair & Rodeo – this year from July 25 – Aug. 3.
