Are you a Douglas County resident with a knowledge of public health and a heart for serving your community?

Please consider applying for one vacant alternate member position on the Douglas County Board of Health. Preferred applicants will have skills that align with Douglas County’s Public Health Improvement plan priorities: Behavioral Health, Injury Prevention, and Disease Management and Prevention, determined following the County’s Community Health Assessment in 2021.

In addition to the county residency requirement, ideal candidates for the position will have related expertise in areas such as: public health; environmental health; medicine/nursing; health promotion/health education; mental health/social work; education; community advocacy; and public policy.

Alternate Board of Health members may vote on Douglas County Health Department matters only in the absence of the Board of Health member for whom they have been designated as an alternate. Alternate terms will coincide with the Board of Health member to whom they have been so designated.

Online applications for the vacant board position must be received by Friday, Sept. 13, 2024.

For more information, view the 2021-2026 Douglas County Public Health Improvement Plan, the Douglas County Health Department 2023-2026 Strategic Plan or visit the Board of Health webpage.
