Youth Congress is a project of the Douglas County Youth Initiative. Youth from around Douglas County get to weigh in on issues that affect youth and are of interest to youth. One of the missions of the Youth Congress is to communicate your thoughts, ideas, and solutions to elected and community leaders.
Youth Congress is an event where adult leaders work with youth on issues that affect the lives of Douglas County youth.
Youth participant requirements:
- Be in the 9th – 12th grade and living in Douglas County
- Parent/guardian permission
Participants will receive six hours of Community Service, with an excused absence from school. Lunch is also provided at the event.

- 9:30 a.m. check-in
- Meet your Elected Officials
- Speaker
- Break-out into groups
- Lunch
- Presentations by workgroups and discussions with Elected Officials
- Conclusion
Registration is now open for 2024 Youth Congress from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7, at Douglas County School District’s Legacy Campus, 10035 S. Peoria Street, Lone Tree, CO 80134
Dress is school-appropriate. Participants bring money for vending machine drinks if you wish, lunch will be provided, plus a small bottle of water.
